Kasaragod is a place where human settlements are from the Great Stone Age. Located in the Chenkal areas in midlands of the district. Pottery, copper, and ancient ironworks provide hints for ancient humans who lived and worship agriculture and nature. Korangar, Malakkudi, Mavilar, Koppalar and Malavattu are the tribes only seen in Kasargod.Tribal people like Velan, Kadaan, Narasanar, Madigar, Bakur, Moger and Pulaiyar are also found in the district as generations of their tribal forefathers . Some places and places of worship show that the Buddhist and Jainism of the Adi Tribes had dominated places of worship.

We can say that Kasaragod is the crown of the state Kerala, Land of many differnt languages, the history of the invasion and resistance, testimonies of historical forts, remainings of innovative culture of the modern stone age like ‘Chenkallarakal’, ‘Nannangatikal’, ‘Muniyarakal’, Inscriptions of historical rulers and their practices, Lush green land of highlands of western ghat, the midlands, the unique traditions and practice of worship.

Ranipuram

The gentle hills of Ranipuram in Kerala are famous for its trekking trail. Situated at the height of about 750 meters above sea level, this destination has thick forest vegetation and lush green grasslands. The whole place is proposed inside the Ranipuram Wildlife Sanctuary which merges with Talakaveri Wildlife Sanctuary of Karnataka.

Malom Wildlife Sanctuary

A popular tourist attraction of Kanhagad region, Malom Wildlife Sanctuary is all about lush green tropical green forest and variety of wildlife. The sanctuary inhabits a variety of animals and birds including peacock, the Malabar hornbill, wild pig, flying squirrel, rhesus monkey and porcupine etc. If you are lucky, you may also get to see king Cobra and Python.

Ananthapura Lake temple

The temple is situated in Kasargod district of Kerala and is connected to Sri Anantha Padmanabha Temple ,Trivandrum. It's a lovely temple surrounded by a lake. It is heard by the local people that there is a crocodile in this lake which protects the temple. The cave is said to be a natural structure that separates Ananthapura and Thiruvananthapuram .

Parappa Wildlife Sanctuary

Kasargod is a place which is blessed with nature's beauty and tranquility. Parappa Wildlife Sanctuary is one such place which offers both. It also offers natural habitation to many wildlife creatures such as turtle, porcupine, pig, Malabar Hornbill, slender loris and jungle cat. Blessed with thick cover of evergreen forest ,it is a beautiful place.

Cheruvathur

Cheruvathur is a cosy small town in the Kasaragod district of Kerala, located only 10 kilometres south of the major town of Nileshwaram. The place is known for being the birthplace of great 19th-century poet Mahakavi Kuttamath of Kerala. His work on musical drama and poem compilations is an excellent source of literary inspiration in Cheruvathur.

Nileshwar

Nileshwar is the cultural capital town of Kasaragod district. It is also spelled as Nileswaram by the local people.It lies between two rivers: Nileshwaram puzha and Thejaswini puzha. The Arabian Sea is to the west. It is the third largest town in the Kasargod district It is one of the three municipalities of Kasaragod district.the others are Kasaragod and Kanhangad. E.

Kareem's Forest Park

A paradise for nature lovers, scientists, biologists, environmentalist and students of Ayurveda, Kareem's Forest Park is believed to be the country's leading private sanctuary. Situated about 23 kms from Kanhagad Town, this place is packed with plethora of medicinal plants, flora and fauna. In fact it is like melting pot with different species .

Valiyaparamba
